'From old vine Blewitt Springs vineyard. Spends a very long time on skins. Since 2011 Taras Ochota et al have remembered to go back to these barrels after 186 days precisely and press the grapes. In a blind line-up, I thought some one had slipped in a very elegant pinot noir as a chicane. Volume of fragrance is markable. Musk sticks, ripe cherry, maraschino cherries, caramelised sugar. Curious too. Palate is lightly grainy, but a good texture, supple, light to just medium bodied, set on sheets of freshening acidity, frisky through the long finish. A sour-sweetness in flavour profile, gloss of stem/whole bunch work. Summation: a very beautiful, calm lake of just ripe red fruit with grand perfume; a quibble would be the gentle sourness that might turn off some people, but not this little black duck. It’s glorious drinking, in essence. 93 points.' Mike Bennie, The Wine Front
