The 'Les Larmes' (French for "tears") Anderson Valley Pinot Noir is designed for earlier drinking than Littorai's vineyard designate wines. It remains in oak for only 11 months. The percentage of new oak is lower, usually between 10% and 20% whereas the vineyard designates are aged in approximately 25% new oak.
'Les Larmes' is comprised of different parcels of single vineyard fruit. It combines the muscular tannins of the Sonoma Coast with the darker fruit tones of the Russian River.

'Unlike the majority of the Littorai Pinot Noirs, the Les Larmes is designed with earlier drinking in mind. It still shows cellaring potential, but with a gorgeous wine like this, it would be hard to keep your hands off. With only 11 months in oak (only a small portion being new), the fruit characters shine brilliantly. Firm tannins, dark berry notes with an undercurrent of spice and earth which defined the 2013 vintage in Anderson Valley.' AWC
