About
The Australian Wine Centre was established in 1987 and is situated in the heart of Sydney at Circular Quay. For over twenty five years we have endeavoured to provide our customers with the latest and greatest on the Australian wine scene. It has been – and still is – a relentless pursuit to seek out the most innovative and quality-driven wine producers in the country whilst also paying homage to the established flag-bearers.
What we stock
Some of the wineries represented in our store include some of the most established names in Australian wine: – Penfolds, Henschke, Giaconda, Torbreck, Lake’s Folly, Mount Mary, Tyrrell’s and Bass Phillip. However, there’s also plenty of the smaller, artisan producers: Ochota Barrels, Hurley Vineyard, Bindi Winegrowers, Si Vintners, William Downie, Jamsheed, Ruggabellus and The Standish Wine Co. to name a few. We like to think of it as a ‘snapshot’ of what is being done in Australia at any given time. On top of this, we carry a large selection of champagne from the small growers to the grande marques and have an increasingly eclectic range of imported wines.
Older bottles, rare vintages
We have always maintained a vast selection of back vintages and continue to cellar wines that we believe will improve over time giving our customers access to aged wines with guaranteed provenance.
Meet our Team
Michael Frost
Michael first set foot in the AWC as a customer and some years down the track fate handed him an AWC jersey.
"I love the process of meeting the people who make the wine, constantly tasting what's out there, then listening to each customer and putting forward a wine that we know, whether its a trusted favorite or new discovery."
