'Gundog Estate, while originally based in the Hunter Valley, have also reached down south and have a new cellar door in the Murrumbateman area, where they also source quite a bit of fruit. The Canberra region wines tend to be more elegant than their Hunter Valley wines, and this is no exception. This wine has seen sixteen months in French oak, which has certainly lended tannin but has in no way interfered with the fruit clarity of the wine. Brightly coloured, richly perfumed. The palate is all about fresh berries of all sorts, with Mediterranean herbs and cleansing acid. Great value for money.' AWC
