'If you know your Aussie wine history, you probably know that Pinot Noir was once the most common grape in the Hunter. You would also know that, since the 1960s, most of it was replanted to more climate appropriate grapes. There are, however, still a few Hunter Pinots. While often blended with Shiraz, Scarborough are one of only a few Hunter producers who still make a monovarietal Pinot. It is a blend of several vinatges, to create consistency, and is a bigger, richer, more fruit driven Pinot than what you get from colder climates. Give this a shot if you're looking for more 'oomph' in your Pinot.' AWC
