'A loosely knit shiraz, more modern and fruit-focused, in context of the single plot wines of the Tyrrell's range. Unlike the ubiquitous red loam soils, this hails from a steep site made up of purple ochred clay. The fruit is of a darker tone: black cherry, plum, baking spice and a whiff of violet, nicely orchestrated along a scale of gentle oak, ripe tannins and dutiful acidity, towing the melody long. A juicy wine for the mid-term. 93 points.' Ned Goodwin, James Halliday's Wine Companion
