Its steep north-easterly pitch has turned an ankle or two and inspired some colourful new vocabulary. But at 550m elevation it’s a rare gem, producing a few crates of intensely perfumed fruit.”
“For wine nerds like me: “Fumé blanc”: barrel-fermented and age-worthy. Low winter rains were followed by a warm and dry growing season, echoing the 2019 vintage and prompting an early harvest. Handpicked on the 1st of March, fermented in French oak puncheons and matured on lees for eight months. Filtered and bottled.” Michael Hall
