Patrick Sullivan Chardonnay 2025

Your new favourite Chardonnay is here! This is Chardonnay Maestro Patrick Sullivan’s ‘entry level’ offering. Whilst Pat crafts his single vineyard wines from his home region of Gippsland, the fruit for this wine comes from three regions on South Australia’s Limestone Coast – volcanic terroir of Mt Gambier, Wrattonbully and Coonawarra.  In the winery, the fruit was whole cluster crushed then pressed and drained off into tank for settling.  Primary fermentation occurred in barrique and tank with about 25% new oak.  It has all the hallmark detail of Patrick’s wines with the mineral drive and generosity that the three regions bring to the wine playing a central role.  Classic Chardonnay citrus on the nose with grapefruit and lime.  Baking spice and toasty oak elements are there as well.  These elements are all joined on the generous and full palate by riper stonefruit and lemon curd as well as toasty elements from oak in well balanced proportion. Through it all is the regionally derived minerality that pulls the wine along the palate for a moreish and thirst quenching finish.
