Pare Romano Vineyard Grenache adds another facet to the Pare Grenache story.
Located in Seaview, Ansel has delivered a grenache that perfectly captures the brighter style of wine that comes from this sub region, with its proximity to the ocean. AWC “This brings a cooling influence to the wine, making it lighter and prettier than some of the more generous / powerful sites that are more inland (Blewitt or Clarendon). The Romano Vineyard, specifically, demonstrates that stylistic difference. I think that lightness and delicacy that comes from being a cooler, more oceanic site is key. This wine is fully ripe, but at a lower alcohol and with a prettier aromatic profile and more gentle tannins – exactly what we were hoping to see.’’ Ansel Ashby – Pare Winemaker
